Every year, the leaders of the European cloud industry gather together at the EuroCloud Congress, to be held in Luxembourg this June 27-28 2011.

This unique two-day event is fully dedicated to the European cloud computing sector. It is the place to meet with business leaders, policy makers and researchers engaged in cloud computing and applications from across Europe. It will examine the role that political, industrial and economic policy can play in cloud's successful growth and global impact.

Attendees will benefit from valuable information exchange and networking with peers and subject matter experts from a broad cross-section of the European industry.

Winners of local EuroCloud Awards in up to a dozen countries from across Europe will be presented at this year's EuroCloud Congress in Luxembourg. Awards include best start-up, best cloud offering, and best user case study in both commercial and public sector categories. Local country award winners will go forward for judging to declare overall European Award champions later this year.

The first confirmed keynote speakers have been revealed for EuroCloud Congress 2011. They include Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Minister of the Economy and Foreign Trade, Jeannot Krecke; Rainer Zimmermann, Head of Unit for Software and Service Architectures and Infrastructure, DG INFSO at the European Commission; and Rainer Zinow (pictured), SVP Strategic Solution Management for OnDemand Solutions at SAP, who oversees solution strategy for the Business ByDesign and Enterprise OnDemand offerings.

The output of last year's EuroCloud Congress was the 16-Point Plan for Cloud Computing in Europe (click image to download the PDF). The 16-Point Plan summarised the proceedings and findings from all the workshops that took place at EuroCloud Congress 2010. In 2011, local EuroCloud organisations are participating in an exercise called 'Road to Congress' to prepare proposals and research towards a new strategy document to come out of this year's Congress.
